Time to Think
I have a big decision to make.
As a society, I feel we do a poor job of allowing ourselves room and time to think.
When I was writing in my journal this morning, I looked back over the last few days and I notice that almost all my writing recently has been about this big decision I must make.
I’ve gone through every potential outcome.
What are the likely outcomes of saying yes to the decision? What are the likely outcomes of saying no to the decision? What are all the possible ways that this could backfire in my face and what are all the ways this could be a huge success?
The modern world teaches us to “take action.” The modern world does not give us permission to be still and to let our thoughts pass freely through out minds.
It takes longer to make good decisions then we want to admit. It’s been days of me walking in circles around the neighborhood and walking in circles around my house, simply thinking about what the best choice will be.
Today, I plan to reach out to people who I know will give me unbiased feedback and possibly a different perspective that I am not recognizing.
I’ll let you know what I decide. :)
